I have numerous solar lights similar to this all over my property and I love it. Why pay for power when you can harness the power of the sun for free?
The stand out feature of this light is the extra large solar panel that is a separate part of the light. Most solar lights like this have the solar panel built into the top of the light meaning they are smaller and can't store that much energy. This panel is large and stores a lot of energy.
This light is heavy so installation can be cumbersome. I would recommend having an extra set of hands when installing. Everything required to install is included.
Comes with a remote which allows you to change when the light comes on and how bright you want it to be. I have mine set on auto which means it comes on at dusk and goes off at dawn. I have found that with the shorter days, that sometimes the light is off before dawn. Obviously the light operating all night is dependent upon the amount of stored energy in the solar panel.
It appears to be constructed very well and I feel it will last well. I think the true test will be to see how it stands up to harsh Canadian winters.

I was able to get my handy husband to put this up outside a storage building with dated outside wiring..its amazing how much it shines when fully charged. I will say on a cloudy rainy day the light was compromised, but if its in a sunny spot and gets full daylight its going to be bright. Now, this is not going to spread a wide swath of light- maybe if you had multiple units close together it would really be bright, but we just put the one up because it was so dark outside and I needed to see where to go. The remote is handy, I have to press the on button because other wise the light only lasts about 10 secs before going out, its motion sensitive..but you are able to change the settings to keep it on for a long or short duration. It comes on at dusk but will only do a brighter mode when programmed, Im sure its to save power to just be on a low light unless you need it stronger. It has really helped solve our problem without needing an electrician to get involved with expensive wiring.

I ordered this solar street light to determine if it is a suitable and cost-effective security solution. I am involved with several non-profit organisations serving our local community. With increased challenges in policing, there is a need to add lighting to assist in patrolling the area. Every non-profit's challenge is the increasing operation costs (such as electricity) and community needs.

Because the sun at this time of year is lower on the horizon in the late fall and through the winter, my test location is less than ideal due to being in the shade of a building during the afternoon. I have this light configured to be on from dusk to dawn, and currently, daylight is down to 9 hours and 21 minutes. In our area, there is a difference of 6 hours and 45 minutes of sunlight between the solstices.

During my 18-day testing period, most days were overcast. Considering the less-than-ideal testing location, the LEDs are typically lit from dusk to dawn most days; however, the lamp does not produce sufficient lighting to be considered helpful within 5 to 7 hours after dusk.

In the spring, it will be mounted on a telephone pole at the edge of a parking lot, free of obstructions to the sun. Because the solar panel on this street light is positionable, there is no restriction on the direction the lamp is used to maximize solar collection. The only location on this lamp where rain, snow, and ice will pool is the top surface of the cast metal V shaped housing of the lamp itself.

With all things considered, for the location, this will be permanently installed; this is a great solution.

The Gefolly SL-8500W solar street light is a whole lot more than what I expected. I couldn't believe the size of the solar panels - each solar panel measures 20.87" W x 13.78" D, they reserve a lot of solar power.
This is made mostly of metal and it is very sturdy. The instructions were clear and assembly was not difficult. We have a driveway at the back of the house that we access through a laneway which is always dark, and attracts thieves. This light was exactly what we needed, the laneway is totally lit and so is part of the back field lol. We don't use the remote so I cannot comment on how it works. The words "street light" should have been an indication on how big and bright this light is. With sunny days this light performs very well. Very satisfied with this big bright street light!
